Wānaka has seen unprecedented growth in the last 5 years with many young families choosing to call Wānaka home.  Often this means moving away from established support networks.  Without the familiar support of immediate family and friends, it can feel overwhelming navigating life with a new baby.

Precious Beginnings is a free postpartum and parenting programme that consists of 10 sessions held over 10 weeks. Precious Beginnings will be available to parents of a new baby 5 months and younger.

Precious Beginnings offers a space for parents to experience a warm and supportive environment where they can connect with other parents in the same season of life. Through conversations and activities, parents will continue to develop their own understandings and gain trust in their parenting intuition.

The programme consists of 10 sessions held over 10 weeks covering a number of postpartum and parenting topics. 

The aim of Precious Beginnings is to 

• Help parents feel more connected to their baby
• Gain confidence in their parenting intuition 
• Connect with other parents who are in the same season of life
• Explore a range of parenting and postpartum topics
• Learn from local expert guest speakers
• Provide a place where parent and baby will experience a supportive and welcoming environment
